Snowpack stability
The snowpack is well bonded and stable in general.
Likelihood of triggering
Triggering is generally possible only from high additional loads in isolated areas of very steep, extreme terrain. Only small and medium natural avalanches are possible.
Stability
LAST AVALANCHE BULLETIN OF THE 2025/2026 SEASON Spontaneous releases: Unlikely with a snowpack of the névé type. Triggered releases: Unlikely. Others: Fragile cornices present locally on summit slopes, fragile snow bridges, high torrent flows compared to previous years.
Snow quality
Snow Cover: The altitude limit of the snow is very irregular with an increasingly discontinuous snowpack: patches or tongues of snow still descend locally down to around 2000m, but continuous snow cover is generally above 2200/2400m in the north, 2500/2700m in the south, with still significant accumulations in the hollows and flat areas, even though the passes and ridges are often now snow-free. Snow Quality: Dense snow of the névé type, often ochre in color due to desert dust on the surface.
