New Zealand forecasts are live

Published 27.07.2026

AVY Base started with European warning services. In southern-hemisphere winter, skiers and guides in New Zealand need the same clear view of danger levels and avalanche problems — without leaving the layout they already know.

We added live bulletins from the New Zealand Avalanche Advisory (NZAA / Mountain Safety Council). Regions such as Arthur’s Pass, Aoraki/Mt Cook, Queenstown, and Wanaka appear under New Zealand with the familiar 1–5 EAWS danger scale and problem icons.

English is the native bulletin language. French and German pages localise EAWS labels and aspect names; forecast body text can be machine-translated when a translation key is available.

This feed is experimental while we learn how NZAA updates fit our refresh and Instagram highlight rhythm — New Zealand’s day starts many hours before Europe’s morning.

Always cross-check conditions on the official NZAA site before you head out. AVY Base aggregates open data; it does not replace the national advisory.
