Snowpack stability

The snowpack is well bonded and stable in general.

Likelihood of triggering

Triggering is generally possible only from high additional loads in isolated areas of very steep, extreme terrain. Only small and medium natural avalanches are possible.

Stability

LAST BULLETIN OF THE SEASON Spontaneous releases: rare isolated and superficial releases (pear-shaped) in wet snow after warming. Mainly on N/NE slopes above 2700/2800 m. Size 1 (small). Triggered releases: sluff under skis in the surface-humidified snow. When cutting across a steep slope, above 2700/2900 m. Size 1.

Snow quality

Snow cover: deficient for the season following the recent heat episode. Skiable limit: around 2400/2500 m in the North, 2800/3000 m in the South on gentle slopes. Snow quality: good freeze in the early morning. Predominantly hard snow. Surface humidification quite rapid, but limited by the wind.
